VP Bank officially launched its EMV-compliant Platinum MasterCard cards. EMV enables all merchants to utilise one terminal at the POS to support any smart card regardless of the issuer or brand. The VP Bank Platinum MasterCard cards, which come in both the credit and debit card versions, mark a series of firsts for the country and for VP Bank.
 
The VP Bank Platinum MasterCard cards offer the ultimate combination of global acceptance, prestige, rewards and enhanced security. The cards will be accepted at over 24 million merchants worldwide and can be used to withdraw cash from more than 1 million ATMs globally, including over 1,000 ATMs across Vietnam belonging to VP Bank and its affiliated networks.
 
The VP Bank Platinum MasterCard cards are the 1st credit and the 1st debit card in Vietnam to offer shopping, dining, travel and other benefits in Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.
 
In addition, cardholders will enjoy benefits reserved exclusively for Platinum MasterCard cardholders, including a 24-hour worldwide concierge service and MasterCard Moments, a website designed especially for MasterCard Premium cardholders to take advantage of fantastic travel and entertainment opportunities.
 
Another special feature is a loyalty programme that awards points to cardholders whenever they use their VP Bank Platinum MasterCard cards. These loyalty points can be accumulated and exchanged for attractive gifts or dining, shopping and travel vouchers redeemable in Vietnam, Singapore or Malaysia. Cardholders will receive double points for their spending overseas and on their birthdays.
 
EMV is a global industry standard covering smart credit and debit cards and the terminals which accept them. Cards that meet EMV requirements are tamper-resistant as these cards have built-in processors that protect information that are stored on the chip to make transactions more secure.
