Superflat PUSHMATIC Card Connector From Amphenol

Amphenol-Tuchel has recently improved their popular superflat Smart Card Connector line with a solenoid eject PUSHMATIC version with minimal dimensions. The trend in the market for payment systems and mobile appliances is leading to increasingly smaller sizes with more functionality.

The Low Profile PUSHMATIC was designed to specifically fill these requirements. Cards according to ISO 7816 are brought manually into the reading position and are mechanically locked to prevent premature extraction. After completion of the transaction, the card locking arm is released by a solenoid and the card is partially ejected out of the slot so it can be removed by the user.

Two switches signal that the card is in the final resting position and that the locking arm is fully engaged. In the case of a power failure the locking arm can be released manually.

The EMV specification was taken into consideration for applications in payment systems.

An optional opening in the bottom of the Smart Card Connector allows foreign debris such as coins etc. to fall through. The I/O to the contact system with landing contacts consists of a flexprint for flex connectors on 1 mm centres.
